Options
General
Always Refresh List
Will not keep previous results in the report, if a device goes offline or for some reason doesnt respond, it will be removed from the report.
Scan Every 1 Minute
Will do a scan every 1 minute.
Thorough Scan
A second scan is initiated immediately after the first one. It will take more than double the time required since the second scan will wait more for a response. The first scan is used as a brute arp refresh.

Always Scan Ports

Appearance
Theme
Selects one of the predefined themes.
Full Shadow
By default, the shadow button will not minimize the form to its title bar, instead it resizes to title bar and the button bar. Full shadow will mimic the X Windows behaviour.
Do not remove results of a previous scan
Instead of doing a clean scan, VSNS will update the results by adding new found devices but will not remove dead ones from the list.
MAC
Resolve Manufacturers
Will query the MAC OUI List for the manufacturer of the resolved MAC address.
Get MAC OUI List
Downloads the MAC OUI List over the internet.
MAC OUI Grouping
Activate Grouping
The algorithm will calculate the Levenshtein distance between the discovered OUI's and will group them. The level defines the maximum distance that will be used.

MAC Library
This function records the association between a MAC address and the Device Type/Sub Type, after an association is made, whenever a scan is done the Device Type is populated automatically. This function will help in Identifying network devices even when they change their IP.
Add to MAC Library
While in the Main IP List, you can right click on a record and select Add to MAC Library, the record is checked against the already stored associations and if its not a duplicate and it does contain at least a Device Type, it will be stored. After that whenever that MAC is found again the Device Type and Sub Type will be immediately added.
To Update a record you just add it, if at one of the Types is different, you will be prompted to update or discard the change.
Remove MAC Association
To remove an association, goto Main Menu -> Options (or use [CTRL] + [O]) and under the MAC Library tab, right click the one you dont need anymore and select Remove.

Warning: These are rarely tested. Binary versioning will almost never be correct (A latter build can have a really older version and functions may disappear). You may lose work if you use these.
